Historically, the first CD of Fats Jazz Band captures the efforts of the orchestra to provide old jazz enthusiasts with song arrangements in exactly the way they used to be played almost 100 years ago.
The CD is dedicated to the famous pianist, organist, composer and bandleader Thomas "Fats" Waller, whose nickname "Fats" had orchestra borrowed into its name. You find here transcriptions of recordings from 1928 to 1943 of different Waller's groups - Fats Waller & His Rhythm, The Beale Street Boys and Fats Waller And His Buddies, as well as song "Tain't Nobody's Business If I Do" originally recorded in a duo with singer Sara Martin or tune "Hog-Maw Stomp" recorded on a pipe organ or as a bonus.
Enjoy lovely mix of golden era music made by 7 musicians and 3 vocal singers.
Fats Jazz Band records all albums together with the singers without the using overdubs or anz adjustments of tune, synchronization of the musicians etc. You hear the orchestra exactly as it plays live.
