4th (23.9.2017 - 24.9.2017) - V-klub Bratislava
We conceived the fourth edition as a look back at the linguistic diversity in Bratislava in the period from 1910 to 1949, when four languages were spoken in Bratislava: Slovak, Czech, Hungarian and German. That is why we have decided to offer our listeners, in addition to the traditional contemporary hits from the cradle of jazz, America, also a complete "Pre-Spor language menu". Each band will therefore play, in addition to American hot jazz or swing songs from the 1920s to the 1940s, their national swing hits.
The 4th edition is for the first time a two-day event on September 23 and 24, 2017, and two concerts will be performed each evening from 7:00 pm.

BOHÉM RAGTIME JAZZ BAND (HU) - one of the best hot-jazz bands in Hungary. The eight-member jazz band plays on 20 musical instruments. They say about themselves that they play as many genres as they have instruments. BRJB has performed at major festivals in Europe and North America including Montreux, Pori, Sacramento, Breda Ascona, Oslo, Dresden, Buda, Rimini, Berlin and many more. BLUE WONDER JAZZBAND (DE) - the nestors of old jazz in Germany, who have been dedicated to the genre for 40 years. Performed by a seven-piece band, you will hear their own arrangements of songs from the repertoire of Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Beiderbeck, Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington. They have played countless concerts throughout Europe and Asia and have released more than 10 CDs. PETRA ERNYEI & SWINGFONIX (CZ) - charismatic singer Petra Ernyei has been dedicated to this genre for 20 years. She was a member of the legendary Original Prague Syncopated Orchestra, Prague Swing Orchestra and many other stylish ensembles. In Bratislava she will perform with her quintet Swingfonix, whose bandleader is the excellent double bassist Petr Pospíšil. FATS JAZZ BAND (SK) - internationally acclaimed nine-piece orchestra revives the hot-jazz and swing tradition of the 1920s to 1940s. It was founded by piano virtuoso Ladislav Fančovič and its members play original historical musical instruments. Therefore, in their performance you have the opportunity to hear the compositions of jazz legends exactly as they recorded them on shellac records. Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Teddy Wilson, Lester Young, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman are all names that will once again find themselves on stage. However, the repertoire of this ensemble also includes Slovak compositions - foxtrots and tangos made famous by the doyen of Slovak popular music, František Krištof Veselý or Viera Racková. www.fatsjazzband.com
